Privacy policy
This policy covers your use of the atlasfinance.app website and the Atlas application (my.atlasfinance.app). It explains what data we collect, why, and what rights you have over it — whether you're a casual visitor or a logged-in user.
1. Who we are, and what this policy covers
Atlas is operated by a Québec-based company. During the beta phase, Atlas is managed by its founding team, based in Québec, Canada.
This policy covers two distinct but connected services:
- The marketing website — atlasfinance.app — publicly accessible and usable without an account.
- The Atlas application — my.atlasfinance.app — which requires an account to track your wealth.
The sections below specify what applies to anonymous site visitors, and what applies to users who have created an account. For any question, you can email us at privacy@atlasfinance.app. A designated person will handle your request within the deadlines required by Loi 25.
2. Data we collect
Atlas only collects data necessary for each of its services to operate.
- Site visitors (atlasfinance.app): IP address at connection time (kept for security and abuse prevention only), browser type and operating system (anonymized), pages visited (anonymized). No profile is created.
- Application users (my.atlasfinance.app) — Account information: email address, password (hashed), registration date, preferred language.
- Application users — Financial data you enter: account names, monthly balances, account types, currencies, real estate properties, alternative assets, debts, goals, budget.
- Application users — Minimal technical data: anonymized error logs, IP address at connection time (kept only for account security).
- No biometric data, no precise geolocation, no data about other third-party services — neither on the site nor in the application.
3. How we use your data
We use your data to:
- Run the application: display your wealth, compute your metrics, execute your entries.
- Secure your account: detect suspicious access attempts.
- Contact you for operational reasons (incident, policy change, etc.) — never for advertising.
- Improve the product: anonymized analytics on used features, never on the content of your data.
We do not profile your financial data for advertising purposes. We do not create a profile to rank or score you for commercial purposes.
5. How long we keep your data
Your data is kept as long as your account is active.
If you delete your account, your financial data is removed from our production database within 7 days. Periodic backups are removed within a maximum of 90 days.
You can at any time export your data (PDF or JSON) or delete your account from your profile.
6. Your rights
Under Loi 25 (Québec) and the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (Canada), you have the following rights:
- Right of access: obtain a full copy of the data we hold about you.
- Right of rectification: correct any inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Right of erasure: delete your account and all associated data.
- Right to portability: export your data in a structured format (JSON).
- Right to cessation of dissemination: request the removal of specific data.
- Right to de-indexing: request that content concerning you no longer be publicly accessible (where applicable).
To exercise any of these rights, email us at privacy@atlasfinance.app. We respond within 30 days, in accordance with Loi 25.
7. How we protect your data
Your data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest (AES-256). Passwords are hashed with bcrypt and are never accessible in plain text, even to our administrators.
The infrastructure is hosted in Canada, under Canadian jurisdiction. No transfer to the United States or another country without your explicit consent.

9. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated to reflect changes to the product or applicable legislation.
Any material change will be notified to you by email at least 30 days before it takes effect. You will then be able to keep using Atlas or to delete your account.
Previous versions of this policy remain available on request at privacy@atlasfinance.app.

This document is a first version. It will be reviewed by legal counsel before the official publication of Atlas outside of beta.
