My debts and credits

Atlas tracks your debts and credits on a dedicated page, with a payoff optimiser that quantifies what you gain by paying a little more each month.

Liabilities page with the payoff optimiser

What the page shows

Three figures at the top:

  • Freedom date — the month the last debt clears, at the current pace.
  • Time remaining — in years and months.
  • Total debt — the sum of balances, in your main currency.

Adding a debt

Open Liabilities & Debts in the sidebar, then Add a debt. The form is short:

  • Name (required).
  • Type among 6: credit card, student loan, personal loan, car loan, mortgage, other.
  • Current balance (required).
  • Annual interest rate (optional, but it's what makes the mathematical strategy possible).
  • Minimum monthly payment (optional, but it's what makes the projection possible).

The payoff optimiser

This is what justifies the page. Above the list, Your Accelerator: a slider that adds an amount to your monthly effort.

  • The slider runs from $0 to the greater of $1,000 and the sum of your minimum payments. Three shortcuts — +$100, +$200, +$500 — save you aiming at the pixel.
  • Atlas recomputes live: time saved, interest saved, total monthly payment.
  • The chart compares the no-effort trajectory against the one with your boost.

Two strategies

The Payoff Plan, below the accelerator, offers two orders of priority. The buttons are labelled by their logic rather than their technical name.

  • Maths — the Avalanche strategy. Clear the highest-rate debt first. This is the optimum: least interest paid overall, and you finish sooner.
  • Psychology — the Snowball strategy. Clear the smallest balance first. You watch lines disappear quickly, which helps you keep going.

Linked debts

Atlas automatically pulls into this page:

  • any mortgage entered on a property;
  • any account in the Liabilities category from My accounts.

They carry a "Linked" badge and are not editable here — a button takes you to their source, the property or the account.
